I am not a fan of veggies, really. Since I was a kid I abhor the poor thing. Then came the decision of the local government of calling Dalaguete's festival into Utanon Festival (utanon meaning vegetables). I said to myself, "I don't enjoy having those in my entree, now I think I will hate the feast day itself."
However, I was mistaken. Now I am feasting my eyes and heart of this momentous occasion every February 10. Utanon festival reflects the bountiful harvest of vegetables and crops presented in music and dance. After all, Dalaguete is the vegetable basket of Cebu.
So, dali na! Mag-utanon na ta! Viva Sr. San Guillermo!
